GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment

2017-05-12 08.26.38

After a very long weekend spent all around the city and wearing foundation every day, it’s time to rejuvenate my skin in preparation for the week ahead. On this week’s Mask Mondays, I am going to review the GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment (mentioned in my May Skin Care Finds).

I only heard about Glamglow around a year ago, when almost everyone was raving about their blue tint man mask. So as any normal Sephora addict person would do, I used this excuse to take myself to Sephora. After browsing all the skin care section (and a little bit of the makeup section, even though I promised myself I wouldn’t even glance at the perfectly set up beautiful makeup stands. I then found myself waiting in line with $79 mask in hand, and enthusiasm that will be followed by guilt.

The Purpose of the Purchase

I am always on the lookout for skin products, especially masks. There is something about masks that just make you feel like the second you peel them of, all your problems will come out with them, pretty dramatic huh? The reason why I purchased this product initially was to see what the rave is all about. I have heard so many people rave about how this is worth every penny and how it will transform your skin within one use, and the second I heard the terms “transform” and “one use” I was sold. I was struggling with a bit of breakout here and there, but nothing too extreme. So I decided to give it a go.

The Ingredients & Review

Because this is a mud mask, and it is a pretty high-end mask, considering the fact that you pay around $79 for something that you will wash off twenty minutes later, the ingredients are pretty intense. Some of the active ingredients are AHA and BHA, activated charcoal (hence the gray color), Clay, and teaoxi. So now that we’ve covered the ingredients, I am going to jump straight into the review. So the mask was fine, but for the price range and all the rave, I honestly thought it would be a tad better. It wasn’t transforming and life changing, but again this is just a mask. My skin did feel a bit clear and purified which is amazing, but again, for the price range, I expected more.

Number of Uses & Price

I purchased the 1.7 oz/ 50g which is the largest portion they have. But it also available in 0.5 oz and a single use treatment. I coated my face quite generously for 7 times. So all in all, I got around 7 uses out of the 1.7 oz jar.

The prices are

$79 CAD for the 1.7 oz

$24 CAD for the 0.5 oz

$24 CAD for 0.1 oz x 5 single treatments

I hope you guys found this review helpful, as promised next week will be quiet a cheaper review on Mask Mondays as this week was a little high end review. Please don’t forget to follow my blog, I post every single day sometimes twice a day!
