Anastasia Beverly Hills Two Lipstick Reviews

2017-05-19 17.14.11

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Hope you are all having a great start of the weekend or a great week whenever you are reading this. In today’s blog post I decided to review two shades from the infamous Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks. I am so excited to be doing this review because Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of my favorite makeup brands out there.

Anastasia Beverly Hills

American Doll

The most two things I hear people rave about from Anastasia’s line are the brow products and liquid lipsticks. I decided to give it a go and test them out for myself. On Valentine’s day, I decided to treat myself and get my first ever Anastasia Beverly Hills Lipstick. Since it was valentine’s day and I was planning to wear red that day, I decided to get the shade American Doll, a bright red with a matt finish. This is the type of color that I prefer only wearing on special nights where I know I want to look so extra.

This is a red color, what I mean by saying that, is that it is not closer to the maroon shade of the red spectra nor is it closer to the orange shade of the red spectra, it lies perfectly in between of a classic red color. I wore American Doll and went out that night to celebrate my birthday, one thing I can say for sure is that this stays on for a very long time. It applies super matte and wasn’t too drying. I loved the color and the application. Oh, and can we take a moment to speak about how much product there is in this liquid lipstick?

This lipstick, in my opinion, requires a lip liner or else it will look too messy and slides all over the place. Having a lipliner to outline where it will go will definitely help in getting a neat application. Another Nay is that although it is longer wearing, it started to come off when I started having dinner that night, and it became pretty messy. Thank God I had a Q-tip and the lipstick in hand for the rescue. The price is a nay for me as well considering it is for amounted to around $30, that, in my opinion, can be a bit pricey for a lot of people.

The next lipstick is a more recent purchase. In the spirit of spring, I decided to buy a new nude lipstick to match all my new nude and pastel outfits that I plan on wearing this spring and the summer. This is a light nude pink, I would say it is more pink than neutral but it depends on your foundation shade (the darker your foundation the lighter this lipstick will appear.) The formula is matte and dries pretty quickly. Just like American Doll, it is also long wearing.

This nude shade is everything!  It is such a classic pink color wearable on an everyday basis. I feel like this is something I will reach out for over and over again this spring.  I would wear this on days where I want the emphasis to be on my eyes and not my lipstick, throw on a pair of falsies and call it a day. This product is long-wearing, doesn’t budge or transfer like American Doll and doesn’t even require a lip liner. This is definitely a winner in my cards.

I was really debating whether to do a NAY on this one because it is just so beautiful. But one thing I hold true is that unfortunately these lipsticks are too pricey and I don’t believe everyone can afford them.
